How the work is set up

“Mise en place” is literally translated to “setting up”, or “everything in its place”. I picked up the concept during my time behind the bar. Now I apply it to the preparation and execution of digital strategies for my clients.

That is how a job starts here. The pieces are ready before a customer has to deal with them. Hours are current, the phone number works, and the page is readable on a phone.

Three steps

The work follows three steps:

  1. Show up when and where people are looking.
  2. Let people know why they should come in.
  3. Give your customers a voice.

The third step is the review tool. A customer can say what was going on and how you helped, on Google, when they want to. Every customer gets the same link.

A fix, from the first note to payment

  1. Send the address and the problem. One sentence is enough.
  2. Get a fixed quote. I reply with what I will change, the price, and the date. Nothing starts until you say yes.
  3. Check it, then pay. I test the work on a desktop and a phone. You look it over before you pay.

A quote covers one agreed problem and the pages it affects. Hosting changes, domain changes, and outside subscriptions are separate. If the job is bigger than the quote, I stop and we write a new one.

I do not promise rankings or a rush of new customers.
